Anonymous asked: how did you get your name?

About 4 years ago while we were (barely) living in Hollywood, through a strange twist of events, we were invited to The Magic Castle. If you don’t know about this place, you need to check it out. It’s a trip.

The Magic Castle is an elite society of celebrities and magicians that hang out in this 100 year old castle at the bottom of the Hollywood Hills. You can only attend if you are invited or a member. If you’ve seen the episode of Arrested Development where Gob does his “Final Countdown” magic show (illusions, Michael), you’ve seen inside The Magic Castle.

The place hasn’t been changed or updated in a loooong time and it feels a bit like walking through time when you pass through the main curtains.

We had a gig booked at Crane’s Hollywood Tavern (RIP) in the coming weeks but still had no name for our band. We were sitting at the bar of the Magic Castle trying to figure out what the hell we would call ourselves when we looked down at the bar and noticed that it was lined with old film strips from the silent film era. We were enamored with them  and started reading them aloud. One was titled “Vaudeville Etiquette” and we kept repeating it over and over again. We knew we’d found something special.

Tayler scribbled it on a napkin (shown below, notice the spelling error) and the rest was history!
